Introducing ReWORK: Our New Freelance Program for Moms

Moms juggle a million jobs—project manager, personal chef, chauffeur, CEO of the household—often all before 9 a.m. And these days, now more than ever, they’re balancing it all on top of a full-time job.
In 1975, less than half of moms with kids under 18 were in the workforce. Today, that number is closer to 71%, according to the Department of Labor. And yet, the challenge of balancing work and family hasn’t gotten any easier—especially with rising childcare costs and ever-evolving career paths.
For years, we’ve shared thoughtful design solutions that make everyday life a little easier—from timeless lighting to hardworking hardware—because we know that creating a home you and your family loves is just one of many things on your to-do list.
But we also know that for many moms, the bigger challenge isn’t just creating a beautiful home—it’s balancing a full-time job on top of it all, or figuring out how to step back into the workforce after time away.
That’s why we’re launching ReWORK, a new program designed to create flexible and purposeful freelance and part-time opportunities for moms looking to re-engage with their careers.
Through ReWORK, women across the country can contribute to the future of Food52 and Schoolhouse in a variety of roles—customer experience, marketing, graphic design, copywriting, social media, production, and more—on a schedule that works for them.
Whether you're looking to build new experience, keep your skills fresh, or ease back into the workforce, we’d love to hear from you.
If you (or someone you know) are interested, apply here. Tell us a little about yourself, your skills, and your availability. And don’t worry if your resume is a little dusty—we get it. We want to learn more about what you’re looking for and find ways to work together.
