Alabax Large Surface Mount

Thank you all for the kind messages in my last post about our boys’ lead exposure. If you’ve been following along for a while, you will know that even though we made our downstairs safe before Winnie was born, the upstairs bedrooms still had lead on the original wood flooring.⁣ ⁣ Although they sleep with us (and we have no plans on changing that anytime soon), for years I’ve dreamt of creating their future bedroom. A place we can all snuggle and play, and most importantly, feel safe. Now that it’s finished, I can confidently say that it is my favorite room in the house. Between the soft yellow paint and all the little things that capture my boys’ interests, it really feels like home. ⁣ ⁣ As far as safety, we replaced all the lead baseboards and put down hickory over the original pine floorboards (some people will gasp that we did that, but safety is way more important than retaining the originality of our home - I did choose to lay the flooring on top instead so they are still a part of the home). The window sills and trim are original so we encapsulated them in paint specifically for lead. ⁣ ⁣ As for the mattress, we went with the best of the best - savvyrest’s organic latex serenity mattress.
