As part of our Benchmade line, the Factory 4 Surface Mount is a faithful Schoolhouse interpretation of traditional factory-style lighting made popular in the 1930s. Crafted from hand-spun steel and powder-coated in-house at our Portland factory, this fixture features a wide opening for maximum light output and top cutouts designed to release excess heat. Produced on an RLM tool made exclusively for Schoolhouse, the Factory Light 4 brings a timeless, utilitarian presence to kitchens, workshops, and covered outdoor spaces alike.

Inside the Factory
Before a Benchmade light can illuminate your home, each piece is meticulously designed and constructed in our Portland, Oregon, factory. Our manufacturing team prepares each fixture by scuffing, sandblasting, or buffing the metal parts before giving them a wash of lacquer, powder coating, or paint in one of our exclusive colors. Finally, each light is assembled by hand and tested for quality before being carefully packaged and delivered to your door.
