Inside the Factory
Before a Benchmade light can illuminate your home, each piece is meticulously designed and constructed in our Portland, Oregon, factory. Our manufacturing team prepares each fixture by scuffing, sandblasting, or buffing the metal parts before giving them a wash of lacquer, powder coating, or paint in one of our exclusive colors. Finally, each light is assembled by hand and tested for quality before being carefully packaged and delivered to your door.

Shortly after lydialauer introduced me to Marie Saldivar steelhuts the three of us set a plan for product collaborations and media coverage. We put schoolhouse and dwellmagazine at the top of our list.
Because we could see the story so clearly, every ask was met with a “yes.” The whole thing unfolded so beautifully. In my client Marie’s words: “That was so easy!”
All about setting the right intentions and letting the universe werk.

The kitchen at our Alta Heights project is spectacular! There are so many custom details to share. The walnut cabinets are all grain matched. The client did not want to distract from this with cabinet hardware, so we custom built walnut pulls to match the cabinets. Together, we created the walnut post for the island. There is also a brass inlay in the soapstone counters to join the slabs on the over sized island.

This mid-century modern kitchen, feels warm and cozy thanks to help from local friends. The beautiful cabinets made from Douglas fir wood sourced in Roseburg by the talented wolfandsoncabinetmakers, give the space depth. The combination of focused task lighting and soft surroundings from rejuvenation and schoolhouse, along with the lovely tile backsplash from annsacks, make everything look amazing.

Simplicity Embodied
The Luna Cord Pendant is simple, elegant and gives off a beautiful glow. Bright enough to light the dining room it manages to also be soft enough to light everyone in it in the most flattering way.
We have high ceilings so needed to add a couple of extra inches to the cord to get it to the right length. In doing so it now feels like a weightless upside-down balloon on the end of its string. We love it and couldn't be happier.

I want to give it a 5…
But this company’s customer service is absolutely abysmal.
You don't answer your phones, you don’t return voicemails and you don’t respond to emails in a timely manner.
We’ve ordered lights and you have sent the wrong ones. Twice. And we have been waiting months.
