Nice minimal and well made
Nice minimal and well made design with good quality. The downside is that the leather loop isn’t seen with a standard roll of towers and this is very pricey for a towel holder.

Right look, could function better
Love the look of this paper towel holder, however it is quite light so the entire thing moves when you pull a paper towel off. Wish there was a weighted bottom to keep everything in place! Some rolls are too tall and cover up the nice leather detail too.

Pretty but could be more functional
Lovely idea and pretty wood & leather. However, the holder is so light that it easily tips over if someone is trying to pull off a paper towel. Would be better if bottom were weighted to add stability. Feels a bit over-priced given this design issue. A weighted metal disc in the base could possibly improve functionality.

Defective, not designed for US market
I love the look of this product and have been thrilled with many high-quality Schoolhouse products in the past. Unfortunately, this lightweight product was designed for smaller European rolls. You can’t see any of the leather or wood with a typical US paper towel roll. I returned the 2 that I ordered. Sadly, they even gave me a hard time about returning saying I misunderstood the product description and that I should have noticed that the photos showed a smaller European roll of towels. Where can I buy “Demi” paper towels in the US?! Ridiculous. Really disappointing.

Danish paper towel holder
I decided to keep this towel holder for the sole reason that it is fairly attractive, despite the fact that it is WILDLY overpriced, (even at the sale price of $79--come on, it's basically a broomstick screwed to a disk) way too light--the base should be a lot heavier--and was unfinished (I used mineral oil). I even had to sand the stick part because there were rough edges that could give splinters! I am giving it a single star mainly because I like the raw leather loop--which I oiled with mink oil. But overall, Schoolhouse, I'm pretty disappointed with the overall quality for the price of this product!
