Victorian in influence and used extensively in mid-century design, this ball style shade is a simple and refined choice for kitchens, entryways, bathrooms and beyond. Translucent white opal glass acts to diffuse and soften light. This exclusive shade is crafted on the banks of the Monongahela River in West Virginia. Each one is individually hand-blown in antique cast-iron moulds using traditional methods over 150 years old.

These are beautiful globe pendants,
These are beautiful globe pendants, I’ve never been disappointed with School House fixtures. They do take a few weeks to receive but worth the wait.

Beautiful globe shade
This light was exactly what I needed to bring some classic modern warmth to my apartment. It’s has a nice thickness to it and really improved the space. I use it over the kitchen table in a small apartment. So happy I got this!

I thought the clear shade
I thought the clear shade would be completely clear. It isn't. It's *mostly* clear, but with slight imperfections. It's fine, and I'm happy with it, but it's not perfect.

Uneven fitter
I looked high and low all over the internet for a glass replacement shade. Schoolhouse was the only place that had what I wanted, so I decided to splurge. I've always been a fan from afar of Schoolhouse's, but this was my first purchase. When the shade arrived, I was excited to try it. Imagine my disappointment when it hung totally crooked. I tried every which way turning it in tiny increments, screwing it in higher and lower, nothing worked. Turns out that fitter was uneven. When I contacted customer service, they seemed to know the shade caused problems suggesting I try again at getting the shade to fit. They said the shade has uneven weight distribution.
After a very slow back-and-forth over email I have shipped back the shade (I was surprised they wanted me to ship it back). I'm still waiting on the replacement shade, so stay tuned, I guess?
