For our Roll & Hill for Schoolhouse lighting collection, we teamed up with Creative Director Jason Miller and The Roll & Hill Design Team to create the Bento Floor Lamp. A playful yet polished light fixture inspired by designs of the past—namely Donald Judd’s practical minimalism and Le Courbusier’s tubular furniture—and the modular metal shades of Japanese lunch boxes. With a sleek painted aluminum box and Pennsylvania-oak framing the shade, this floor lamp brings bold style to your space without overpowering it. The arched polished chrome rod and round base offer a modern, minimal silhouette, while the light’s soft, diffused glow adds a welcoming warmth to any room—from your office setup to your living room.

A Schoolhouse Original

New York-based Roll & Hill Founder and Creative Director Jason Miller let his love of industrial fixtures guide the way for Bento, our collection of four new lighting styles. Named after the Japanese lunch boxes, Jason drew inspiration from designs of the past—namely Donald Judd’s practical minimalism and Le Courbusier’s tubular furniture. Each fixture harmonizes powder-coated aluminum shades, Pennsylvania-sourced oak, and chrome-plated tubing to give off a cool vintage vibe, even when unlit.
