Mara Wire Hand Towel Holder

I was shopping around for a minimal towel bar that wasn’t a ring shape. This was perfect for my bathroom and matched my toilet paper holder. The anchors that came with it were a joke. As soon as we installed it, it wiggled and loosened almost immediately. My husband had to reinstall with better anchors from the hardware store. Unfortunately the location of the towel bar wasn’t going to be mounted on a stud, relying on beefy anchors. I expected Schoolhouse would include better quality installation hardware for their products. But I still love the towel bar.

Love this hand towel holder! Some reviews said that it doesn't stay in the wall, but we located a stud and it is holding perfectly well and looks fantastic.

This towel holder was a super easy install for me because I was attaching to a wood cabinet. I read other reviews about trouble attaching to a hollow wall, but I avoided those issues and really love it.

Towel bar was much heavier, sturdier, and overall better quality than I had assumed from the picture. Installation note: it tore right out of the wall with supplied anchors, with barely a wiggle. This towel bar needs to be installed into a stud. It’s absolutely lovely, but the stud is a must.

We needed to reinforce this with stud placement, and it’s holding up well. I really like it simplicity.

This is a very well made and nicely finished object. I love the design. Unfortunately the two screws are very close together and even with the anchors it wants to twist. It’s too much of a cantilever to be structurally supported by such close together screws.

I love the shape of these towel holders, but the area with the screws should be slightly larger to hide the anchors/screws. You are able to view the anchors because the metal is so narrow around the screw area. Seems like it would be an easy fix.

Hardware that came with it for install was cheap plastic that doesn’t work.

The design of this was not thought through. Sticks out from the wall way too far for a towel (we bent it flatter with a vise), the drywall anchors it comes with are totally useless (we had to rip them out of the wall after it wouldn't tighten down fully using them, now have holes to fill), we'll see if the better anchors we bought today will work, but it's doubtful since the two holes are so close together it compromises the drywall, and the back of the hanger is not actually flat. Lastly, and maybe just because we were already annoyed, but FLAT head screws? Really? Another layer of annoyance to bring it down to 1 star. (We also bought the tp holder and towel hooks and did install them successfully into framing, we like the style once installed, but they are extremely hard to level, since nothing on them is straight, the backs aren't flat, and there is no wiggle room.)
