There’s something special about a quilt that feels both timeless and new, a piece that wraps you in warmth while quietly telling a story. That’s exactly what we aimed for with the new colorways of our bestselling quilt.
Inspired by the rich history of vintage academia and ivy league libraries, these palettes nod to the past with collegiate-inspired hues and classic patterns reimagined for today. As part of an ongoing exploration of iconic textiles and color stories, this collection invites a closer look at the heritage details that continue to shape the way we find comfort at home.

Ben Jones, one of our textile designers, takes us behind the scenes: “We drew inspiration from historical museum libraries and ivy league campuses, spaces rich with warm dark neutrals and jewel-toned accents. The Alder and Black colorways are a direct nod to those academic interiors. They’re deep, rich neutrals with less contrast than the original Stillwaters, which gives them a sophisticated, timeless feel.”
What makes these colorways stand out is their ability to quietly anchor a room while telling a story steeped in history. Picture dark walnut furniture, leather-bound books, brass fixtures, and the soft amber glow of vintage lamps—all woven into a space that feels both grounded and refined.

“But we didn’t want the collection to feel too serious or heavy,” Ben explains. “So, we introduced the Cobalt and Persimmon colorway, a playful splash of jewel tones that brings brightness and joy. It’s that unexpected pop of color you might find in a curated collection of artifacts or a hidden corner of a collegiate library.”

Styling Tip: The alder and black quilts pair beautifully with warm walnut furniture, brass or amber lighting, and vintage leather accents for a look that’s scholarly yet inviting. For a more lively vibe, the cobalt and persimmon palette shines against creamy neutrals, deep green walls, or even soft grays, creating a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere.

Ben reflects on the bigger picture: “There’s a noticeable shift in how people relate to color and comfort today. Dark walnut furniture and retro vintage styles are trending, but there’s also a desire to keep things joyful and modern. These palettes capture that perfectly—they’re rooted in tradition but made to feel fresh and personal.”
As you transition from the lightness of summer into the richness of fall, these quilts invite you to embrace a deeper sense of comfort and style. More than just layers of fabric, they’re layers of story, warmth, and timeless design, ready to become part of your home’s next chapter.
